Hao Chi Jie 好吃街
• 2-5 RMB for most snacks
On the southeast section of the Jiefangbei Plaza is a street running between Liberation tower and Jiaochangkou (the clubbing district). This street is home to shop after shop of street snacks and sit down eateries. This is the place to go to refuel after a long day of shopping and sightseeing around Jiefangbei. Here you can try the shaved ice covered with a colorful assortment of fruit and nuts and beans and jellies (Pao Bing-刨冰). Or they say the “Hao You Lai” Suan La Fen (“好又来” 酸辣粉) here is the best in town. This local specialty is a sour and spicy mixture of clear potato noodles, nuts, ground pork, and cilantro. Or if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, nearby you can get skewered chicken gizzards, roasted duck necks, and other such things that you would be unlikely to find back home.
Bus Tip: 较场口 or 临江门
Light Rail Tip: 临江门 (Linjiangmen) Exit D (the Liberation Monument exit)
