This hostel was mentioned in this NY Times article. It’s centrally located in Jiefangbei about 10 minutes away from Chaotianmen dock along the Yangtze River. They also have a handy website (chongqinghostels.com) that’s translated into several different languages to take some of the guesswork out booking a place to stay.

Conveniently located near the Jiefangbei shopping plaza. Between Snack Street and the clubs at De Yi Plaza. Unfortunately I can’t find any reviews or photos of this hostel, but it is mentioned on several Chinese websites.

When you ask the locals about 5 star hotels, this is usually the first one that comes to mind.  This one is located right in the middle of the Jiefangbei shopping plaza (near the Metropolitan).  Go to their official website and experience the online guided tour (English & Chinese)!

Right in the middle of the city, conveniently situated near a major public transportation hub where you can catch direct buses to virtually every other district. This is the only 5 star hotel located in the northern Jiangbei district (fast developing and full of money). It is the nearest to the airport and new train station. It appears to primarily cater to the Chinese businessmen, their English website provides an introduction to the hotel and the surrounding area, but fails to mention room rates. To book rooms online check Sinohotel.com or Elong.com.
